Instagram bio generator

Tone

Bios are built from hand-written templates in your browser, not by AI. Instagram currently allows 150 characters; each idea shows its count.

How it works

01

Say what you do

Your role or business, and who it is for.

02

Choose a call to action and tone

Tell visitors what to do next, and pick a voice that fits your account.

03

Copy and personalise

Copy the idea you like, add your own details and check it fits before saving.

How to write a good Instagram bio

Your bio is the first thing people read when they land on your profile. In a couple of lines it should answer three questions: who is this, what will I get if I follow, and what should I do next?

Work within the character limit

Instagram bios are short; at the time of writing the limit is 150 characters. Emoji and line breaks count too. That is enough for a clear sentence and a call to action, not for your life story.

What to include

  • What you do: your role, business or topic.
  • Who it is for: the audience you serve.
  • Proof or personality: a detail that makes you memorable. Only claim what is true.
  • Next step: visit the link, book, shop or send a message.

Use words people search for

The name field and the bio are both searchable. Use the plain words people would type to find an account like yours, such as “vegan baker” or “Berlin wedding photographer”.

A simple formula

[What you do] for [who] · [one detail] · [call to action]. For example: “Strength coach for busy parents · 20-minute home workouts · Free plan below”.

Make it easy to scan

  • Put each idea on its own line.
  • Use one or two emoji as bullets, not as decoration in every word.
  • Keep the call to action last, right above the link.

Frequently asked questions

How long can an Instagram bio be?

At the time of writing, 150 characters, including spaces, emoji and line breaks. Instagram can change this; the editor in the app shows the current limit.

Are these bios AI-generated?

No. They are built from hand-written templates using the words you enter, in your browser. Edit them so they sound like you.

Should I use emoji?

A few can help structure a bio and add personality. Too many make it harder to read, and some screen readers announce every emoji.

Can I add line breaks?

Yes. The generated bios use line breaks, which are kept when you paste them into Instagram’s bio field.

How often should I update my bio?

Whenever your offer or focus changes, and when you have a new link or campaign to point people to.

Is the tool free?

Yes, with no sign-up or limits.
